THIS IS HOW WE ROLL EXHIBITION – CHINA HEIGHTS

China Heights is proud to present ‘This Is How We Roll’, a group exhibition by 24 Australian and international artists who share a common love for skateboarding and it’s culture and lifestyle.

Following on from a successful Launch in Perth, ‘This Is How We Roll’ comes to Sydney to exhibit an entirely new series of works. With help from The Element Advocate Program, ‘This Is How We Roll’ aims to show that through the unique application of creativity and skill, all 24 people exhibiting are credible, individual artists in their own right.

‘This Is How We Roll’ is a mixed medium exhibition, featuring photography, collage, aerosol art, silk screens, illustration and more…

Artists exhibiting include Beastman, Brett Chan, Joe Allen Shea, Stefan Marx, Troy Archer, Andy Murphy, Steve Tierney, Andy Uprock, Gimiks Born, Brandon Els, Kyle Montgomery, Gibson Fox, Samoh, Aldous Massie, Robert Jenkins, Dr Dolomite, Kit Baker, Claire Orrell, Ben Barretto, Bjorn Johnston, James Sillitoe, J’aime Fazackerley, Ryan Boserio and Megan Isabella.

This exhibition precedes the launch of the independent skate series of the same name. ‘This Is How We Roll’ the skate series takes viewers on an epic journey into the unique lives of Australian skateboarders. ‘This Is How We Roll’ episodes are diverse and document Australian skateboarding in a way never seen before.

PERTH CITY POSSE

This guy was all up in everybody’s business. Garth nicknamed him gargoyle because he sometimes crouched on top of high ledges to obtain his extreme angles.

Alex and Morgan Campbell

Ricky shredding an amazing looking spot.

All in all we had awesome day of skating/filming around Perth city. Lots of tricks were landed and jokes were made. Quite a few citizens also took it upon themselves to act insanely aggressive towards us. Completely unnecessary but it comes with the territory for some reason.

Here are some of the Perth homies that I’ve been rolling with, filming with and hanging out with lately. All the very best of dudes.

TIHWR – The Story of Rory’s Fullpipe

Rory Lucas. A man with skills to pay the bills. A man who has a story for every occasion. A man who does what he loves for a living. A man who with the help of his best friend built a fullpipe in his backyard. A man who uses his instincts and follows his dreams. A man who even with all of his knowledge and skills, is humble and down to earth. Rory and his fullpipe will feature in the new Australian skate series currently in production.

Where and when will it be airing? You’ll have to wait a little longer to find out….

This is where the “magic” happens

I spend alot of hours in this room/office. I thought i’d give you a bit of a behind the scenes look at my work space. I’ve spent years editing on a little laptop in my bedroom, usually sitting on my bed. It feels great to have a separate room dedicated to being creative. Trust me, it makes all the difference. I hope that some of you can now understand why I have chosen to live in Perth. With few distractions and a house big enough to breathe, I can focus on being creative and spending the time needed to make “THIS IS HOW WE ROLL” as good as it can be. – J’aime
